Crossroads Adaptive Athletic Alliance is the only US 501c3 nonprofit of its kind – building a stronger community for adaptive athletes and their coaches. We help athletes with permanent needs participate in life-changing fitness opportunities through education, grants, and competition. You can find out about all of our initiatives and programs on our Programs Page.
CrossFit I35 will be hosting both competitive events for adaptive athletes and training for their coaches in the near future.
As of 2016 Crossroads is very excited to announce that they have been awarded a major grant from the VA to provide 6 month CrossFit gym memberships to eligible veterans at CrossFit I35 and their member gyms.
Eligible veterans are as follows:
– Active duty, separated, or retired service members- Preference given to wounded, ill, or injured while in service; does not have to be combat related
– Preference given to those new to CrossFit or those who have been away from it for over a year- Must be interested in committing at least 2 days per week to their Alliance Gym’s classes
– Must be willing to go through basic fundamentals and recommended mobility courses/sessions- Must be willing to journal their experience (using workout log is ok as long as they are annotating more than just the WOD and time/reps) and turnover journal at end of 6 months for use to increase VA support (all names will be removed in final report to VA)
If you know of anyone veteran or otherwise with adaptive athletic needs or are one yourself please fill out the form and we will contact you with additional details.
Note to Veterans:
While this program is fully funded by the VA the VA isn’t involved with the operations or administration of the program. In other words CrossFit I35 and its Veteran members aren’t required to file any paperwork with the VA.
