Only a couple said they had the crap under control. So I have to assume quite a few of you are still eating crap.
Before I go on a little rant about what crap is lets talk about fitness goals.
First goals must be specific. Vague goals such as, “I want to tone up” or “I want to get jacked” guarantee lackluster results and guarantee that you’ll continue your bad eating habits. Another vague goal is, “I want to lose weight” or “I want to get strong as a mother****er”. What mental picture do you have when you say tone, jacked, and exactly how strong is a mother****er anyway. Lets tighten up these terms. You might have a picture of a specific athlete which is a decent start but it’s not quite good enough.
Vague goals say nothing don’t give you something you can measure to let you know you’re getting closer or further from your goal. So how about, “I want to look like Andrea Ager”. Great but still a little vague. Of course you could put her picture on your fridge and you could sign up for her workshop at CrossFit I35 March 29 which is a great start. But lets take this a step further. You have to have measurable numbers associated with how she looks. What are her body composition measurements as in weight body fat and circumference measurements. (I don’t know the exact answer to that question but you can ask her on March 29) Once you have specific numbers you know how to plan your diet and workouts. Few have created a map toward awesomeness which you now have.
If its getting strong as a mother****er pick someone who is. The strongest men I have ever personally met is world champion strongman Zydrunas Savickas and world champion weightlifter Dimitry Klokov. I think these guys are officially much stronger than a mother****er so take it from there. Dimitry actually has a log with every workout he has ever done and films of every competition he has ever been in. Brilliant example of having goals and mapping progress.
So how does this relate to crap junk food. Pretty simple you won’t get your bodyfat levels to match Andrea or Dimitry eating pop tarts for breakfast and sitting on the couch eating bon bons like Peg Bundy. So if you want to be like Peg keep your goal of “dropping a few pounds” or “toning up”. I guarantee Peg and everyone like her sit on the couch with there pop tarts and say, “I’m working on it and doing better”. BETTER THAN WHAT? You get the point.
To conclude if you want a mindset that will make you great and fulfil your wildest desires you have to know exactly where you are going. My guess is that the cream cheese filled jumbo pretzel isn’t on that path.
