I had just lost 50 lbs and had spent a year doing treadmill and light circuit weights. I wanted to find something more challenging so we tried the on-ramp class at CrossFit I35. It was a rude awakening at how weak and out of shape I really was. My friend Monica told my wife and I about CrossFit I35 and we tried it. Now I can do pull-ups, toes to bar, knees to elbows, handstands and double unders. I have achieved my goals of a 300lb back squat, 255 lb bench press, 455lb deadlift, 155 lb snatch and 205lb clean & jerk. I have set the goal to reach 15% body fat. My views towards fitness have changed. It helped me realize that there is no age too late to start. Males in their 40’s can develop muscle. Fitness is a must for a long and productive life. When I began I was worried about doing things overhead and getting upside down. My wife and I workout together so CrossFit is our thing. We encourage one another. CrossFit I35 is a wonderful community which is very important. Now I have more energy, I am making healthier choices day to day and I’m stronger.
